The Duke of Newcastle, a British statesman and politician who served as the 4th and 6th Prime Minister from 1754 to 1807. He is commonly known by his title: The Lord FTP - Thomas Pelham-Holles was an English peerage given to him after inheriting lands originally owned by that family; during their time in power they had been known for being very close partners with Sir Robert Walpole (the first holder). A protégé many years ago while serving under this man until 1742 where he became famous because it seems like nothing could stop these two men's influence over cabinet positions or officeholds throughout Great Britain!
About Wickwar
Founded in 1773 , by Joseph & William Wickwar , Wickwar started as a luxury paper mill outside Newbury . In 1786 HMSO was founded and Joseph Wickwar won the contract to supply paper to Parliament .
In 1788 Joseph partnered with Joseph Bramah to produce luxury Despatch boxes for Royalty & Government and went on to produce in excess of 5,000 boxes and became the premier supplier of the Iconic red box .
The simple design of the famous Gladstone Box continues today & Wickwar manufacturers around 100 boxes per year using traditional skills & tools from its workshop in London .
